Country star Christie Lamb will fly into Tamworth next week to perform at a fundraiser in the little boy’s honour.
Max has Cerebral Palsy and his family and friends have been busy raising money for aids to help make his life easier.
A special fundraiser will be held at Wests Diggers on Saturday, July 1 from 6pm where Lamb, Heartland and Jared Scott will take to the stage.
Country star Jodie Crosby will MC the event.
Raffle tickets will be on sale for an ongoing holiday raffle to be drawn on the night, with the event sponsored by Total Electrical.
Tickets are $40 for adults and $10 for children, with finger food and entertainment provided.
Lamb told The Leader she received an email from Max’s dad Tim Simpson asking if she would like to perform.
“I had the date free, and I thought I love going to Tamworth anyway, so that’s enough of a bonus, but also helping little Max who is only three,” she said.
“The whole purpose of the night is to raise funds for his equipment, which is something pretty special and if I can help I’m happy to, so the band and I are going up there.”
Lamb said the family-friendly night would have something for everyone, with Lamb to perform her old classics, covers and some new songs on the night.
“It’s going to be really big, anyone can see from the ticket price that this is worth coming along to,” she said.
“This is a country town so I’ve definitely got quite a few of my songs in there (the set list) and then there’s the classics and favourites of mine like Carrie Underwood, Chris Stapleton and the kinds of big covers that people know and enjoy like Darius Rucker.”
“It will be nice to meet the family face-to-face and see little Max.”
Christie Lamb is in her 20s and her career has already gained great heights.
She received the Golden Guitar award for CMAA New Talent of the Year in 2016, along with the fan-voted CMC New Oz Artist of the Year, in 2015.
This year she released her new album Loaded along with two successful singles Flame Thrower and Bad Habit.
