It was full steam ahead as mini train enthusiasts from all over the region pulled into Tamworth at the weekend for the celebration.
The Tamworth District Model Engineers Inc, which was formed in 1996, have created joy and laughter for families for years.
To celebrate the group’s 21st birthday, the operators opened up the popular railway over the weekend.
As part of the festivities, a grand parade of trains rolled through on Saturday, before a public running day on Sunday with $2 miniature train rides.
The popular railway was the culmination of many years of hard work by volunteers from across the region and with the help of grants and council support.
A public running day is held on the third Sunday of every month between 10am and 3pm. Adults and children are welcome to ride the trains at a cost of $2 per ride.
