The major prize will be the opportunity to represent North West at the NSW All Schools Cross-Country Championships at Sydney’s Eastern Creek on July 21.
Tamworth Primary Zone has had a thorough preparation following their Zone Championships four weeks ago at Barraba, with 11 training sessions being held at various locations.
Their team, comprising 24 boys and 24 girls, hopes to emulate the great results achieved over the past three years when 12,19 and 12 runners respectively gained selection in the North West team by finishing in the first six placegetters in their Coolah events.
Last year Tamworth Zone took out three of the eight team events against the other nine competing zones.
