Lawrence will be joined by her musical mate Catherine Britt for their last show on their Love and Lies Tour which has captivated audiences across the nation.
The dynamic duo will perform some of their greatest hits in an intimate show at Wests’ League Club and Lawrence said she was keen to celebrate her milestone with fans.
She describes the country music capital as her “second home” and said she’s excited to party at the Hats Off to Country Festival in July.
“We really pushed to get the love and lies tour in at Hats Off because you tend to come in January and that’s it,” Lawrence said.
“I feel there are a lot of people that prefer the Hats Off experience too because it’s a bit different and I think our show reflects that.
”It’s a bit more of an acoustic story teller kind of show rather than the big fireworks extravaganza you put on for January.
”We’re stripping it back a little bit, we’ve got the intimacy and it will be last show of our tour – so it’s actually going to be a bit of a party night and we’re excited about that.”
The show will be held on Saturday, July 8 and marks 10-years to the day since the singer songwriter’s first release.
She’s also flying high off the success of her latest album Happy Ever After, released in September, 2016. To top it all off, she said the tour with Britt has been one of the most well received yet with the duo receiving standing ovations and encores on many occasions.
“That is all based on the songs and ourselves,” she said. “It is a stripped back tour, so when we get these reactions we are really, really happy because the rawness is connecting rather than it being big band and backup dancers.
“We made a conscious decision to really reflect our singer songwriter styles. There’s lots of jokes, banter and harmonies and all of that so it’s been great.”
The Tamworth Hats Off Visit comes just weeks after Lawrence sang an original song 100 Year Handshake in front of US president Donald Trump, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and veterans from the Battle of the Coral Sea to mark the 100 year anniversary of the alliance between America and Australia.
“I felt nervous, but also proud,” she said. “I thought if I sang this song with the right intentions and what I believe in then there’’s no need to be nervous. I could see those men there, the ones that were in that battle and I thought I am singing this song for them.
“Donald Trump was very close to the stage and so I had a good look, and thought I can’t let this go by because people are going to ask me what he looks like.” Tickets to the last show of the Love and Lies tour are available from the Wests’ website.
