The Nomads suffered their first loss in over two years at the hands of Gunnedah last week.
“They don’t lose one game, let alone two in a row,” Kangaroos coach Ben Mitchell said, adding that hopefully they can change that and make it two in a row.
The Nomads took the points by 45 last time the two sides met, but Mitchell was happy with the way the Roos played, particularly the intensity they brought.
“We really put together a four-quarter performance,” he said.
Despite picking up the results they have struggled to find that consistency in recent weeks.
“The Inverell game we played awesome in the first half and then died away. It was then the opposite the Moree game,” Mitchell said.
“It will be good to start a game well and finish a game well.”
Mitchell watched the Nomads play last week, and while they didn’t get the result, he remarked about their run off half-back.
“Between their mid-field and half-back they set up really well and were hard to stop,” he said.
“Our forwards need to work on their defensive pressure and not let Armidale get the ball out of their backline so easily.”
He spoke of Cameron Graham especially in glowing terms. Identifying him as the Nomads’ most important player, he said his run and carry out of half-back against the Bulldogs “very good to watch”.
