Libby Magann and Emily Grellman were this week named in the Australian Country women’s team to tour Thailand later in the year. It follows their performances at the nationals where Grellman kept for the successful Blues side and Magann played for the Waratahs.
Magann – who had a brilliant tournament and was named in the All Star Seven – couldn’t wait to play alongside some of the game’s best players again.
“I’m over the moon. I feel pretty honoured able to go away and compete at that level given I’ve had kids and playing really well again,” Magann said.
All in all, Magann felt the team was in a strong position to defend its Princess Chulabhorn Cup title in November.
“I think the side will be very competitive,” she said.
“Last year they won and I know the team is very young but there’s a mix of older girls as well. It’s a very strong side, I think.”
