Affected households and businesses in Quirindi, Murrurundi, Willow Tree, Blandford and surrounding areas will be notified in advance with a planned power outage required between 12.01am and 8am on Sunday, 4 June.
Regional manager Northern, Mark Summers, said Essential Energy’s asset inspection program had identified three power poles and five pole cross-arms that required replacement.
“This area is supplied by one powerline and electricity can’t be re-routed from an alternative source, so it’s vital that ongoing inspections and maintenance are undertaken to ensure the network is kept in peak condition,” Mr Summers said.
“Our cyclical asset inspection programs identify and address potential issues with the network to minimise the risk of faults occurring.
“Significant planning has been undertaken to complete the project as quickly as possible, including bringing in additional crews and equipment from Barraba, Gunnedah and Tamworth to work with our Quirindi teams.”
The scheduled works are reliant on suitable weather conditions and may be postponed if the conditions are unfavourable or any unforeseen circumstances arise.
“We thank customers for their patience and understanding while we work to improve the local power network,” Mr Summers said.
