The Salvation Army-run fundraising drive saw about 250 volunteers door-knock their way around the streets of Tamworth.
Among them were 200 Farrer Memorial Agricultural High School students door-knocking on Sunday.
“It’s about giving back to the community,” year 11 student Dylan Smith said.
Tamworth Salvation Army captain Dean Clutterbuck said the drive had raised about $20,000 by Sunday afternoon.
“Any donation gives hope and shows people that they’re loved,” he said.
“A huge thank you to our community because without them, the Salvation Army couldn’t do the work that we do.”
Donations can still be made online, Tamworth Salvation Army on Goonoo Goonoo Road or Westpac.
