The Rams inside centre was on Friday named at outside centre in the Cockatoos side to take on Sydney Suburban next Sunday, and was in the thick of the action as the Rams maintained their unbeaten start.
“It was a pretty good performance,” co-coach Barry Hoy said, adding that it’s not often they “come away with a win out there”. He was disappointed to let the Blue Boars in for a few points, but had little complaint other than that, and always felt like they were in control of the game.
The Rams backs did the damage on the scoreboard with outside centre Ed Cordingley pursing four tries and winger Richard Young two.
“They probably picked up a level again. (But) The forwards gave them pretty good ball to work with,” Hoy said.
He said, after a tough and low-scoring last round win over Gunnedah, it was good to get a few points again.
Keen picked up the three points, ahead of fullback Ed Churchill and breakaway Sandy Cameron.
Narrabri coach Dylan Dylan was quick to point to the Rams backs as the difference.
“They were a bit too good for us in the backline,” Duncan said.
“Their backs are very good and they made us pay today.”
He thought his forwards played well.
“Our set pieces need a bit of work, they weren’t as clinical as they normally are, but in general play our forwards went really well,” he said, with Matt McDonnell a standout in the backrow.
