Barnaby is leading Australians down a path that will destroy the environment and the planet, justified by his perception that all we want is short term jobs and growth.

Barnaby’s comment “the world has gone mad” that he made about the Shenhua mine approval was quite right, it has, but now he is leading the way to greater madness with his push for more coal mines like Adani in Queensland. Both he and the Turnbull government have gone totally mad if they are considering to bankroll a company that none of the banks would touch.
I am disgusted that our elected representative has become the salesman for more coal mines that will take the planet to the brink of Climate Change catastrophe, and what is even more disgusting is that he proposes to use a billion dollars of our money to make it happen.
He happily ignores that the future for the Barrier Reef has never looked so bad. Just in the last two years 49% of it has died, largely due to Climate Change, and he happily ignores that the jobs and income it creates from tourism far exceeds that of coal, and it is sustainable forever.
For those of us that care for the environment and the future of the planet it is sickening to listen to Barnaby promoting more dams that will destroy our rivers, more clearing that will cause species extinctions, and getting rid of threatened species to log more forests.
His thinking fits the 1950’s era, when we were oblivious to Climate Change and the impacts we were causing. It is not the path that I want for my children and grandchildren. They need a leader who considers the future of the planet and sustainable growth ahead of short term jobs and growth.
