Greentree won last year’s BOTY as a member at Kootingal Bowling Club and has since moved into town to play for South Tamworth. With 160 points, he has overtaken his new clubmate, Stewart Bayliss (130 points), in the 2017 edition of an award named in honour of one of the CNDBA’s best – Bob Fowler.
Bayliss was knocked out of State Pairs contention at the semi-final stage but had won the CNDBA’s State Fours at Manilla earlier this year with Greentree, Mick Tarbert and Graeme Nicholls.
It gave Bayliss 130 points and a slender lead before Greentree completed his State Senior Pairs and won the final.
Dave Shorten and Grahame Hall are on 70 points, with the next BOTYA event at their home club West Tamworth on June 15.
