In 2017-18, inter-regional matches will continue, with new teams wanting to play, veterans cricket spokesman Greg Kellett said.
“In over 50s, Narrabri is hoping to get a full team to play, Barraba have about half a team, so if there are any players in northern NSW over 50 who would like a game, we would like to hear from you,” he said.
Kellet said Tamworth had enough players to fill two teams for the Over 50 State Championships in Armidale in October.
“But we will keep taking names,” he said.
“Over 60s will continue to be the stronghold of vets cricket as numbers are increasing in the other age groups. Over 70s have about 15 players, but will increase over the next few years.”
The over 50 national championships will be held in Orange between March 30 and April 2.
