Acting on information from the public, police from the Tamworth Target Action Group (TAG) went to a house in Central Ave on Tuesday morning.
After speaking with the occupant of the house, a police spokesperson confirmed officers were granted permission to search the property.
As a result, five mature cannabis plants were seized for forensic analysis.
No arrests were made at the scene but the police spokesperson said charges were expected to be laid.
“Investigations are continuing,” the spokesperson said.
Police said the cannabis plants had an estimated street value of $5,000.
