Fresh from a top 20 finish in last weekend’s Grafton to Inverell, Inverell’s Dylan Sunderland will line up as one of the favourites for Sunday’s Nemingha to Nundle road race.

Bound for the US in a few weeks for another racing engagement before heading off to Europe, Sunderland placed 15th in his home race, and will be joined on the starting line at Nemingha Hall by brother Zak.
The race has drawn riders from Inverell, Armidale, Muswellbrook, Newcastle, Coffs Harbour and even Dubbo, with entries topping 40 for the 100km handicap event.
Leading the local challenge will be Ash Smith.
He will be part of a contingent of around 16 Tamworth Cycle Club members contesting the main race, which will see riders climb to Nundle before a swift return to the finishing line on Nundle Rd at Nemingha.
Joe Kelly, Darren Traill and Rob Wright will also compete after racing in the Grafton to Inverell.
They have enjoyed a fairly easy week in the saddle as they recover from the gruelling 228km race, which Wright and Kelly were both riding in for the first time.
Another handful of TCC members will race in the 40km event, which will depart from Nemingha for a flying return trip to Dungowan, including talented young juniors Luke Deasey, Fletcher Partlin and Zane Tapp.
TCC publicity officer Luke O’Connor also reported that there are a number of ladies doing their first race after competing in last month’s inaugural women's only 100km ride.
Sign-on is from 8am with racing commencing at 9am.
