The team have been working on the land’s largest tea setting for next Thursday’s World’s Biggest Morning Tea, and have now called on the community to take selfies on the giant setting and post them online using the hashtag #BillabongTea , as well as joining them all for a cuppa on Thursday morning.
Operations Manager Michael Herden said that the day, which supports Cancer Council, has a special meaning to the organisation and its members.
“It is our way of giving something back to the community, because the community gives us so much,” Mr Herden said.
“All of our members know what it is like to live with a chronic condition, so if we can do something that makes people forget about their illness for five minutes then that is great.”
Billabong Clubhouse will host the morning tea at Darling st from 10.30am on Thursday.
