Garry Walter Fields appeared in the dock of Armidale Local Court on Wednesday morning in a police-issued blue forensic suit, handcuffed and with no shoes.
He made no application for bail but told the court he wanted all the charges dealt with together, after Magistrate Michael Holmes said he would get his other cases from unrelated matters sent to the court.
“Yeah that's the resist, they said I resisted arrest, and I didn't,” he said from the dock.
“I just want to get them all dealt with … it's about corruption, they got the dog onto me.
“I got stripped butt naked … it’s corrupt.
“I just want to get them all dealt with at once, so I don't have any charges coming up.”
Aboriginal Legal Service solicitor Patrick Newby asked for two weeks to get “further particulars” from police.
“There is a number of charges and the facts leave a bit to be desired,” he told the court.
Fields faces 19 charges including failing to pay for fuel, stealing, disqualified driving and using an offensive weapon to avoid arrest, as well as assaulting police.
Police allege he rammed a cop car on the Gwydir Highway about 3.30pm, last Friday, and tried to hit another, but officers got out of the way.
The officers were patrolling the highway looking for a Toyota Landcruiser utility which was stolen from a Strathbogie Rd, Wellingrove property, earlier that day.
Police said as they attempted to intercept it at Glen Elgin, Fields was alleged driving the stolen vehicle and rammed the passenger side of the cop car and took off.
Mr Newby told the court the co-accused Krystal Jean Boney, 21, was “coming off a heavy drug issue”, and asked for her to be closely monitored in custody.
”I’ll endorse the warrants … if you need medical help just tell them, they'll help you,” Mr Holmes told Boney before she was led into custody.
She faces nine charges including beak-and-enter, fraud, driving without ever getting a licence and arson, after allegedly torching the stolen car.
The pair were arrested on Kubba Jimba Rd at Dundee about 11.15am on Tuesday, by the dog squad, Armidale TAG and police technicians.
They were found near an RFS vehicle which had been reported stolen from Glen Innes sometime on Sunday night.
Fields is also accused of damaging two Glen Innes council vehicles at the depot in Land St on the weekend.
