Police from the Hunter Valley Local Area Command have revealed a 61-year-old man died in a fatal motorcycle crash on the New England Highway on Wednesday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to a stretch of the highway between Willow Tree and Murrurundi just before 12.15pm after reports of a motorcycle accident.
It’s understood the accident happened near the Kancool weigh bridge, about 40km north of Scone.
A 61-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, but he died at the scene a short time later.
Officers from the Hunter Valley command were assisted by police from the Crash Investigation Unit who established a crime scene. A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
