Moonbi-based Metcalf landed not one, but two surprise results.
Hortensia Raider ($13) sealed a first career win in the third heat of the Sauer’s Glass Maiden Series (340m).
Her winning time of 20.43 was the second fastest of the four heats, behind Black Dingo (20.18).
Metcalf completed a memorable day at the track when Cullinan Raider upstaged star Gunnedah chaser Takalo Gem.
Cullinan Raider ($11) packed too much punch late to win the Mikeloren Patisserie Grade 4/5 Stakes (402m) by 1 ¼ lengths from the $1.65 favourite.
Munn’s brace came courtesy of Chosen Diamond ($2.75eqfav), a narrow winner in the Jeff Teege Appreciation Grade 5 Stakes (457m) and King Jamati.
King Jamati ($1.80fav) relished the drop back in class for his second career win from 20 outings.
