Backing up from his player of the tournament performance at the recent National U15 Championships, Czinner was one of four goalscorers for Kiwis with Mitch Burrows and Antony Doolan both striking twice.

Captain Josh Worpel also found the back of the net, in what he thought was a better performance from them, albeit a bit patchy.

“When we held onto the ball and passed we looked a lot better,” he said.

“What hurt us is when we went long and made silly turnovers, and they caught us on the counter-attack.”

The midfield was where they really set the platform.

“We controlled the ball a lot better,” Worpel said.

“We got a lot more transfers to find an overlap.”

Czinner was a handy addition to the middle, forming a formidable combination with Worpel and Doolan.

Tudors coach Sam Lobsey said it was a good starting point for them. It was the closest they’ve been to their full first grade squad, and the effort was there.

“There is a bit of a base we can work on to get a bit of momentum at some point,” Lobsey said.

The simple basics were the thing that let them down, Lobsey drawing comparisons to performing a beep test all the running up and back he did.

They’d run it up and turn the ball over and then have to scramble back.

He said Sterling George was good in goals for them. Brett Lobsey was their players player, while Sam Wright had a strong game on debut.
