School children and members of the community united to march and honour the fallen and pay tribute to the serving.
In his first time attending a Kootingal Anzac Day service, Tamworth RSL sub-branch member John Drysdale gave a speech in front of thousands of people.
“They call Kootingal a village, but for a village to put on this kind of turn out is overwhelming,” he said.
As a Vietnam veteran, Mr Drysdale said meant a great deal to him to see a small community put on such a big show.
“It’s staggering, it just shows how they hold the day in high esteem.”
“It’s a fitting tribute to our fallen soldiers.”
