The Bolts took their record in the men’s division one competition to 6-0 after an emphatic 92-66 road defeat of Central Coast Crusaders on Saturday night.
American import Kyle Gupton hit a game-high 24 points in what coach John Ireland described as one of ‘his finest games in Thunderbolts colours’.
But the nod for the busiest team of the weekend has to go to the Tamworth women’s team, who played a triple-header in Sydney.
The Bolts opened with a 19-point loss to Wagga Blaze, but bounced back superbly on Saturday night to defeat Goulburn Bears 62-56 and then overcome St George Saints 59-51 on Sunday morning.
Lily Darcy, Taylor Skelton, Rachel Laws and Tammy McMahon played important roles as coach Brad Melton juggled the roster.
The Bolts have climbed to fifth on the ladder.
