DETECTIVES are investigating after a man suffered serious injuries when he was bashed in Coledale.

The 32-year-old was rushed to hospital in the early hours of Sunday morning after he suffered serious head injuries at a house in Green St.
He was airlifted by the region’s rescue chopper to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle on Sunday afternoon.
“About 1.50am, there has been an altercation at the residence, and the circumstances of which are still under investigation,” Sergeant Josh McKenzie told The Leader.
“A 32-year-old male was conveyed by ambulance to Tamworth hospital.”
Detectives spent the day on Sunday questioning witnesses who were at the Green St residence at the time as they try and determine what happened.
He is being treated for serious head injuries, and police are investigating how those injuries were occasioned to him.
