Oliver was the most popular name for boys for the second year in a row, while Olivia took out the top spot for girls.
Oliver John Neilson was born at Gunnedah Hospital on April 11, 2017 to Matt and Melissa Neilson.
First-time-mum Melissa said she has dreamed of calling her child Oliver since she was a teen.
“It was a choice I made as a teenager, that if I ever had a boy, he would be called Oliver. I didn’t realise it was so popular,” Melissa said.
Oliver’s proud grandparents are Laraine and Kevin Finlay, of Sydney and Kristine and Peter Neilson, of Muswellbrook.
