TAMWORTH’S older residents will enjoy a musical feast once a month from this Thursday, with the North Tamworth Bowling Club hosting a special seniors lunch. Starring Ross McGregor on piano, seniors can enjoy a two-course meal, plus tea or coffee, for $15 from midday.

Mr McGregor said the Fun for Seniors lunch was a good outing for people to enjoy a meal and music at the same time.

“It can fight against depression and anxiety and make them feel good,” he said. “I’m blind, but music is something I can do for the community and I can contribute to other people in this way.

“Music is such a powerful way to lift people’s spirits.”

The first seniors lunch is this Thursday, followed by another on May 18. Bookings can be made at the club.
