Potts was presented with the award backstage at the sold out CMC Rocks Queensland festival last month by five-time CMA Vocal Group of the Year, Little Big Town.
Named for Country Music Hall of Fame member and long-time Executive Director of CMA, the Jo Walker-Meador International Award recognizes outstanding achievement by an individual or company in advocating and supporting country music’s marketing development in territories outside the United States.
“It is an incredible honour to receive an award with Jo Walker-Meador’s name on it as she is one of the true pioneers of the country music industry,” Potts said.
“It is also great to be recognised by your peers for the work we have done to bring the best artists from North America and other international markets to Australia over the past decade and a half - and build a country music festival that can stand alongside the best in the world.
“Country music is truly a global genre and it’s only going to get bigger here in Oz in the years to come.”
