The annual tournament forms part of the NSW Veterans circuit.
“The NSW Veterans Golf Association facilitate these weeks at centres around the state,” tournament director Paul McDougall said.
“There are some 50 of them each year.”
They had 200 golfers play over the week, 150 of them visitors.
The visiting contingent came from all over, and as far south as the ACT and South Coast, north to the Gold Coast and Hervey Bay, west to Dubbo and all points in between.
Starting off at the Tamworth Golf Club on Monday, they moved to the Longyard for Tuesday and Thursday before finishing off the week back at Tamworth on Friday.
Divisional prizes were presented for each event with the scores from the first two days also counting towards the overall tournament winners.
Sussex Inlet’s Bill Crothers won the men’s NSW Veterans Golf Association trophy with 74pts, while Nelson Bay’s Kristine Heggie carded 64pts to win the women’s.
Tamworth’s John Ramsey, Kay Swadling, Leonie Johnson and Jeff Parker, and the Longyard’s Larissa Melssen figured among the individual event winners, while the Longyard’s Gordon Hile and Tamworth’s Andrew Frost won the morning Fourball on Friday.
