Ms Jackson has been accused of misrepresenting personal expenses - including alleged payments to airlines, overseas hotels and a furniture store - as union expenses through a number of individual transactions between 2003 and 2011.

She has been charged with 70 theft and deception crimes.

She appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates Court via video link on Friday.

Prosecutor Deborah Mandie said that the current charges against Ms Jackson were being re-drafted, and that she would be told of additional charges in the coming days.

It is understood that the new charges do not involve new allegations of misconduct.

Ms Jackson said she was concerned because she understood from recent discussions with prosecutors that no further charges would be laid.

Magistrate Charlie Rozencwajg advised her to consult with her lawyers, who did not appear in court.

He extended her bail until her next court appearance on June 19.
