Quad bike accidents are one of the most talked about farm accidents, accounting for a large proportion of recorded accidents in rural Australia.
The team at Harvey Morris Motorcycles in Tamworth take quad safety seriously, that’s why on April 7, they will be playing host to an accredited ATV safety training course in the area.
The cost of this course is fully claimable under the NSW Government rebate program through SafeWork NSW. There will be a representative from SafeWork NSW in attendance to assist with any enquiries in regard to the current rebates.
The course will be run by Australia’s top ATV coach, Rodney Jenner and will provide invaluable safety and knowledge training to help keep you and your staff safe while operating Quad bikes.
So if you are a small business with up to 20 staff who operate quads, contact the staff at Harvey Morris Motorcycles to register for your spot at the course.
You will be required to provide your own quad of any brand, if you have more than one staff member attending, one quad between three staff members is sufficient.
Personal protection equipment such as long pants, long sleeve shirt and helmet will also be required.
There are currently rebates available through Safe Work NSW for the purchase of Side by Side vehicles with approved roll over protection and seatbelts as well as rebates for the purchase of helmets and rollover protection for quads.
At Harvey Morris Motorcycles we also stock a good range of ATV helmets and the popular Quad Bar roll over protection bars.
So head into their shop at 49 Dampier Street to check them out for yourself or to ask the staff about ATV safety.

ON THE advice of a staff member with extensive experience in ground engaging, combined with consumer demand sparked Bearfast to become agents for Digga.
The attachment manufacturer provides more than 79 separate parts for most machine types, according to Bearfast manager Adam Roach.
From this month, they will all be available at Bearfast in Barnes Street, Taminda.
"We're really thrilled to be able to offer our customers genuine Digga attachments," Mr Roach said.
"Digga offers quality, versatility competitive pricing and a factory backed warranty."
Bearfast is Tamworth's leading one-stop shop for agricultural, industrial, automotive and commercial bearing and safety needs.
The locally owned business began more than 32 years ago and services the north and north west district.
"Many industries need specific bearings for the smooth running of their vehicles and machinery," Mr Roach said.
"So we're the people to come to when sourcing bearings, bolts, belts, sprockets, pulleys, tools, chains and filters."
Mr Roach told how one keen Bearfast worker kept talking about Digga equipment; how its low priced products improved the manufacturing process.
Established in 1981 by Stewart Wright, Digga moved into manufacturing in 1982 about the same time Bearfast was starting up.
Now based in Queensland, Digga is Australian owned and employs more than 200 workers across the country.
Mr Roach was particularly excited about Digga's rotary axe, bucket and tiller.
"The 72 inch axe is the ultimate attachment for clearing and shredding thick bush and scrub," Mr Roach said.
"The front hood opens up, exposing the blades past the guards, enabling close up axe-like cuts to remove trees up to 180 millimetres in diameter."
Digga can supply a complete range of attachments to suit most machine types, from tractors, skid steers, back hoes, telehandlers, truck cranes and excavators.
Another innovation from Digga is the torque logic for screw piling, a torque monitoring and data logging system which replaces the hood pin.
Digga claims the innovation gives torque readings that are 98 per cent accurate.
“It's certainly a coup for us to be the leading provider of Digga equipment in the district," Mr Roach said.
Bearfast is open week days from 7.30am to 5pm and weekends from 8am to midday.
It can organise same-day delivery and the fastest turnaround times in the area, according to Mr Roach.
To discuss Digga equipment, phone Bearfast on 6765 4822.
This baby is the torque of the town and is now available at Equipment & Service Co in Tamworth.
The latest Kubota SSV series weighs in at 6790lbs and has a torque of 166 ft. lbs, which speaks volumes about its quality.
"We're thrilled to be able to offer this latest Kubota wheeled loader for sale," Equipment & Service Co office coordinator Kate Fitzsimmons said.
The company, in Gunnedah Road, Tamworth, is the authorised dealer for Kubota, Krone, Hardi, Versatile and Deutz Fahr and also stocks a range of used machinery.

The Tamworth team at Equipment & Service Co were on hand at the latest AgQuip to showcase the new range of Kubota tractors.
The M7-1 Series tractor marked a new era for Kubota and Ms Fitzsimmons said the SSV series bobcat was just as innovative.
Equipment & Service Co was started in 1963, with the Tamworth branch opening in 2006.
The company offers sales support, service and repairs on all new and used machinery.
"We can tailor a finance package to meet your cashflow requirements," Ms Fitzsimmons said.
