But there’s a buzz in Woolomin when it’s Tamworth Show time and the public school becomes a hive of activity, preparing their animal nursery.
Principal Leisa McMahon said the whole community gets invested in the project.
“All of these kids, when they go in and have that responsibility of caring for animals, it really builds their character,” Mrs McMahon said.
It’s the 16th year of Woolomin’s nursery at the show and there’s a special family-theme for Mrs McMahon this year. Her daughter, Steff, was part of the first cohort and now grandson Tyler will be helping out.
“We really try to support the Tamworth Show and keep that spirit alive,” Mrs McMahon said.
