Wednesday’s patchy rain saw the Tamworth Airport weather station record 40mm as of Wednesday afternoon while Monday’s late afternoon storms saw Tamworth receive 6mm of rain and almost 3mm on Tuesday.
It’s been a cool start to the week with the area remaining in the high 20s, however a top temperature of 31 degrees is predicted on Thursday. Showers are predicted for the end of the week and are most likely to occur on Saturday and Sunday with Chaffey Dam holding strong at 97.5 per cent.
While Gunnedah has only recorded about 2mm of rain for the week, possible showers are forecast over the weekend with top temperatures around 30 degrees.
