The Southerners headed into the decider as underdogs with a new-look team.

But Lauren McGill had other other ideas making two direct hit run outs and assisting with some amazing fielding, before making 26 with the bat.

McGill shared an important 40-run stand with Jessica Ling, which helped Souths overhaul Norths’ total of 107.

The Southerners set up the win in the field, getting the key wickets of Norths duo Rebecca Browning and Emily Rixon cheaply.

The rain threatened all the way through the final and the light became a major issues but it was in the 20th over that Souths were able to score the winning runs and finish 5-111.

This amazing win given Leanne Browne and her Souths squad the last six titles.
