Although I do not live in Tamworth, Council’s plans for the swimming - sports complex seems very one-sided to me.

The proposed locality is quite a distance from the main and most residential areas.
If Council sells both the present pools, all north of Bridge Street, west of the main bridge and all east of the Peel River will be “high and dry”, no pool for swimming lessons for numerous school children, and family relaxation and helpful exercise for the elderly.
Very few young parents and working folk could afford the expense or the time to travel to the new complex.
It seems this is really to cater for sports minded and ambitious young folk for further advancement.
When training I expect parts of the complex would not be available to the public.
Council could do a lot more to benefit ratepayers and citizens instead of pandering to sports folk and tourists - general maintenance is badly neglected.
