In December, The Leader reported CleanGen’s proposed solar farm in Narrabri would produce 120MW, enough to power 46,000 homes every year.
The proposed site is located on Logans Ln and will create about 280 jobs during the construction, with up to 14 ongoing jobs.
There are three other solar farms planned for Nevertire, Gilgandra and Walgett, which Mr Humphries said would create jobs and benefit the economy of Barwon.
“If approved, the proposals could generate sustainable power and local jobs in these towns,” Mr Humphries said.
“Our aim is for a secure, reliable, affordable and clean energy future and projects such as these are great opportunities that enable us to deliver on this as well as a boon to our local economy.”
