Tamworth MP Kevin Anderson extended the invitation to Mr Black, with $800,000 in government funding allocated to the redevelopment of the campus.
“This is a once in a generation opportunity to shape the campus to meet our needs so I believe it’s really important that the boss of TAFE comes to Gunnedah to meet with staff and businesses to discuss what’s required,” he said.
“Because we have a problem with unemployment and skills in Gunnedah, we need to provide the training courses and opportunities to locals so they can do those jobs.”
Gunnedah Mayor Jamie Chaffey said TAFE needs to talk to local businesses to find out about what training options are needed.
