Lions head coach Tom Bower said 82 players from the Mid North Coast, Central North and New England put in their registrations forms with 52 attending on Sunday.
"We had some that were really developed who played for NSW and NSW Country before and then we had girls who were playing it for the first time but have been successful in other sports,” he said.
"We ran some strength and conditioning testing with exercise science department, we did some education stations to teach the girls how to play rugby and in the afternoon we had match play.”
He said they will notify players at the end of the week whether they were successful in being selected into the wider training squads. Training bases will be set up in the three regions with the wider squad coming together twice before the tournament.
