With three female trainers and six female reinswomen on hand, the ladies celebrated well. Stacey Weidemann drove three winners on the day including two features in the John Dean Memorial and the Narrabri Cup, while her aunts also celebrated two wins, with Lola taking out the first event on the program and Julie taking out the final event.
Lola Weidemann also trained five winners and Stacie Elliott trained a winner.
The final event for the day was certainly another milestone for women in harness racing when the Weidemann girls finished 1-2-3. It was a real family affair with Julie taking line honours with Irishtown Babe, Stacy second with Jedi Superstar and Lola third with Dontbefoolish.
Hope all females in the industry had a great International Women’s Day and what a boost to the Teal Appeal for the Ovarian Cancer fundraising drive with five winners in teal pants at Narrabri. Go girls!
