The first event was an Italian pursuit with the hosts Tamworth leading the way.
Min McDonald led for the first lap with an average speed of 40km from a standing start.
Next was Joe Kelly followed by Chuck Taylor with Sam Spokes finishing off for the team with a blistering average speed of 50.3 km.
The combined time was four minutes 38 seconds (4:38).
Inverell was next with two Tamworth riders assisting to make up the numbers.
Luke Deasey was first out followed by Ben Clark with Shane Edmonds and Peter Horwood rounding out the team.
They showed the Tamworth riders how to do it by completing the four laps in 4:33.
Armidale was next to go with Josh Denham, Michael Hoult, David Cook and John Scott- Hamilton in action, scooting around in a combined time of 4:39.
Congratulations to Inverell for the win and taking $200 cash to help with fuel for the trip home.
Ben Clark and Luke Deasey will be sweeping the track for the rest of the crit season for trying just a little too hard.
A few of our regular club riders were away competing in Triathlons, leaving two to fight out C-grade, with Min McDonald managing to win the sprint from Peter Nash.
B-grade took to the track next with all clubs represented in what was a fairly evenly matched field.
There was some fairly aggressive riding from the crew with numerous breakaway attempts.
Tamworth’s Rob Wright put a lead on the field for a short time with Chuck Taylor managing to bridge the gap in an attempt to help out.
They again had burnt too many matches and it came down to a sprint with Simon Heppel (Tamworth) leading for almost the entire last lap.
Armidale finished well with Josh Denham coming second and John Scott-Hamilton third.
A-grade was next and again all clubs were represented.
Inverell’s Peter Horwood made an attempt at getting away and was also caught by the field after a few laps on his own.
Even Tamworth president Mark "I'm not good enough for A-grade" Stewart managed a few laps at the front with Ash Smith in an aggressive move.
Sam Spokes worked hard many times to bring the field back together in what was a very tough race, Spokes won the final lap sprint ahead of Inverell ace Horwood.
