The former NSW Country quick claimed a remarkable 8-37 to steamroll Tatts for 88 and bowl Crossroads to a 100 run win.

The result saw them leapfrog Tatts and finish on top, leaving the premiers and RSL to thrash it out next week for the remaining spot in the decider.

Trindall’s haul wasn’t the only outstanding effort for the round with Civeo openers Nick Smart and Lachlan Cameron both cracking centuries as they defeated RSL.

Smart hammered 110 in a 150-run opening stand with his districts captain, who carried his bat for 114 to pilot Civeo to 4-291.

Blake Jarrett was the best with the ball for RSL with two wickets, with Jake Brayshaw and Mick Bayliss each chiming in with one.

They then made a good fist of the run chase reply with 254.

Andy Irvine (70) and Brayshaw (14) set the foundation putting on 78 for the first wicket. Irvine and skipper Zaac Brayshaw (31) built on that with 45 for the second, before Neil Brayshaw made 34 at five.

The innings tailed away after that though as Matt O’Meara snared 7-51.

In the other game, after reviving their fortunes the previous round, Crossroads posted 8-188.

“Everyone just contributed,” skipper Luke Meppem said.

Mark Fielder (37), Chris Sargent (35) and Tim Hayne (31) were the biggest contributors, Fielder and Sargent sharing a 60 run stand for the second wicket.

The Tatts bowlers shared the spoils around with Ryan O’Neill nabbing 2-45, Brock Schwager 2-49 and Mick Sargent a very tidy 2-19.

Trindall then ripped in.

“It was a really good spell of fast bowling,” Meppem said.

His haul included a hat-trick, picking up Rod Kirk the last ball of his seventh over and then Jake Rumsby and O’Neill the first two balls of his eighth.

Joel Hogan bowled well in concert with him up the other end.

“Joel just built the pressure and Trigger took the wickets,” Meppem said.

Brendon Ward’s 24 at the top of the order was Tatts’ best.
