Barry Purdon is the most successful trainer with winning on five occasions, (1991, 1993, 1994,1999 and 2000) while Lance Justice has four (2003, 2004, 2010 and 2011).
Natalie Rasmussen – who is in this year’s race - is one of only three females to have driven the winner with the others being Kellie Kerlsey (1996) and Jodi Quinlan (2004)
Smolda has drawn the inside gate with the last winner from that position being Smoken Up back in 2011.
Our Waikiki Beach will commence from the three barrier with the last winner from that position was Baby Bling back in 2013.
John McCarthy - who won the Prydes Easifeed Golden Guitar Final at Tamworth back in 2016 with Cyclone Kate - is a dual Miracle Mile winner with Be Good Johnny in 05/06.
McCarthy has Bling It On commencing from the three barrier with son Luke McCarthy in the spider.
The Miracle Mile was first introduced back in 1967 to see who could break the two minute barrier.
New Zealand mare Robin Dundee driven by Bob Cameron – with Cameron to be a special guest on Saturday night – achieved that first up when she clocked 1.59.
This year’s field has no mares competing – it is made up of stallions and geldings! Mares have won in the past.
Last year’s winner – Have Faith In Me – clocked 1.47.5, so folks stay tuned to see who is going to be the first across the line and maybe once again the fastest in the 50th running of the $750,000 Ainsworth Game Technology Miracle Mile (Group 1 and Grand Circuit Event) which is set to start at 9.32pm tomorrow night.
The final event at Menangle will see the Darren Reay trained Better Than Max – the 2017 Tamworth Cup winner competing in the $51,000 SKY Racing Carnival of Miracles Stakes (Group 2) at Menangle along with Shannonsablast from the Darren Elder stables.
Local racing will be at Narrabri this Sunday and again the following Sunday where the Carnival of Cups will be staged.
