Mr Anderson said the community has genuine concerns which he will raise with the Minister for Roads Freight and Maritime, Melinda Pavey MP.
“The school pedestrian crossing on Denman Avenue doesn’t have a school crossing supervisor, or is not a marked zebra crossing, which means traffic is less inclined to stop or slow down when approaching the crossing.
“Denman Avenue sees a lot of traffic movement during school drop off and pick up times and the community believes more can be done to increase safety for children and families.
“It’s not just the number of cars, trucks and motorbikes that use the road though; it’s the traffic behaviour which is of great concern.
“A petition gathering support for change to occur in this area has been circulated and I look forward to fighting with the community to make this happen.”
