The 2016 winner of the MusicOz Australian Independent Music Awards Best Country title is offering listeners a piece of herself through the songs.
“The EP is like going into my life and it is really personal,” Pearson said. “When it came to playing them for people, I thought, 'do I really want them to hear it?' but then I thought, this is me- love it or leave it.”
The resulting seven-track EP, Long Time Coming, reflects Pearson's pop, rock and country influences encompassing a mix of ballads and up-tempo, happy and hopeful songs.
“I've been holding on for a little while waiting for the right timing, professionally and also emotionally.
“The release will literally be just that - a release of all the emotions I’ve experienced.” she said. “Over the last few years, I've learnt a lot about myself, made realisations, and walked away knowing a little bit more about who I am and what I want or need.
“I would also like people to walk away from the EP feeling like they can relate, and that everything that happens, good or bad, grows us as individuals. It’s an acceptance that has been a long time coming.”
