Tamworth teacher charged in Gunnedah by Oxley detectives with child grooming

DETECTIVES have arrested a Tamworth teacher and will allege in court she groomed a teenage boy for sexual activity.

The woman was charged by Oxley detectives following a two-day police investigation, this week.

The alleged offences occurred between late last year and early-2017 in Tamworth.

The teacher is facing charges of using a carriage service to procure a child for sexual activity and using a carriage service to groom a child.

She was questioned by detectives in Gunnedah and charged at Gunnedah Police Station.

The woman was granted conditional bail by police and has been prohibited from contacting the alleged victims and any witnesses.

She has been ordered to appear in Gunnedah Local Court in March.
