The Peter Collins-skippered finished second behind the Blues and are “looking pretty good” as they chase a finals berth. They will be without Kyle Taylor, who was their top-scorer against the Blues, but do welcome back Ben Jackson and Clarrie Moran, which will bolster the middle order.
Their batting was one of the areas they fell down against the Blues.
“We needed to have a higher run-rate in the middle overs when we were batting,” Collins said.
“And our bowling was a bit loose.”
“It’s about finding the right lines again and for our batsmen, batting to a structure rather than just surviving.”
Armidale were victorious by four wickets last time they played Gwydir but are wary of the Bingara-based side.
“Gwydir are not to be taken lightly,” Collins said.
“They’ve put in some good performances.”
