The Country Championship heats are just around the corner, so it comes as little surprise to see some of the region’s precocious types stepping out.
Hometown duo Dan Roy and De La Hoya add spice to a $20,000 Class 3 Handicap (1200m).
Dan Roy, prepared by Leon Davies, was scratched due to a heavy track from the last Tamworth meeting, but gets a good surface here.
De La Hoya went around that day and made a winning impression with Robert Thompson staying aboard.
Later in the program, the capable Bullet Kid, who won the $40,000 Maiden on January 20, chases a second success on the bounce at Class 1 level over 1400m.
Racing opens with the first from 1.55pm, with the last of seven races at 5.35pm.
SELECTIONS – Race 1: Mr Grumpy, Princess Lottie, Cozursmart; Race 2: Royal Flush, Larlabrook, Aristograts; Race 3: Folkstone, Dropyourbundall, Silkscape; Race 4: Dan Roy, De La Hoya, Try ‘N’ Run A Muck; Race 5: Supreme Goddess, Rockatorio, Safety Peg; Race 6: Divine Brown, Impressive One, Onya Rosie; Race 7: Bullet Kid, Moonlight Spy, Pindara.
