The Prydes Easifeed Golden Guitar Consolation was a popular win for Bathurst reinswoman Angela Hedges who drove Tulhurst Ace to a 6 metre win over the opposition. Hedges did not have time to party as she headed to Menangle on the Saturday night and drove Rocknroll Angel to a win in the $26,000 AGL Energy Tabcorp Park Menangle Country Series Final.
Tamworth has certainly seen the best of the best over the Carnival and Keeping Pace can let you know that the Starmaker 3yo winner Im With Lexy will commence from the five barrier in the $14,000 Harness Breeders NSW Pink Diamond at Menangle tomorrow night with Bathurst reinsman Bernie Hewitt in the spider.
Beside all the feature winners at Tamworth last Friday night plenty of “locals” also presented to the winner’s circle. Anthony Varga drove a winning double with Certainlywillbe followed by the John Enks trained Sassy Shannon in the Hazells Farm & Fertilizer Local Trophy. Local trainer Ken Natty then engaged Peter Hedges to take control of his pacer Gotta Feeling to gain entry to the winner’s circle. Narrabri trainer Jarred Hetherington then watched as Inopartake took line honours with Formosa in the spider.
Harness Racing New South Wales is once again rallying its support behind the Women’s Cancer Foundation (WCF) and taking part in the Teal Pants promotion. In order to increase the awareness of ovarian cancer, every female driver across the state will be wearing teal coloured driving pants when competing in official races from February 1 to March 11.
Manilla reinswoman Courtney Sutherland will be showing off the teal as she looks for another winner from Jax Tellar after driving her first career win at Tamworth last Friday night behind the gelding. Jax Tellar will line up in the opening event at Tamworth on Sunday evening with the first race set for 6pm.
