Historically, the Tamworth Country Music Festival has been a low-point for the blood service, with critical donations dropping by around 50 per cent.
Six heroes rolled up their sleeves to help the cause on Tuesday.
There were no capes, but there were sashes and hats as six Queen of Country Music Quest entrants donated blood in Tamworth.
The six starlets gave blood, and they hoped their donation would inspire others.
Entrant Tara Grant said she was shocked to learn how dramatically donations dropped off during festival.
“I thinking perhaps people are too busy with festival, or locals don’t want to go out if they don’t have to,” she said.
“If we can do it, others should, it only takes seven minutes to get your blood out.”
Fellow-entrant Cassie Cutmore was the only first-time donor on the day and said there was nothing to fear.
“I had never thought about it before,” she said.
“I will donate again, now I know it’s not that bad.”
