Nothing to offer retirees in Tamworth – not true!
To K. Neary (NDL 20/1/17), who says there is very little to offer retired people in Tamworth. Please come along to the Launch Day of the 1st term 2017 program of U3A, to be held at the Community Centre (Heritage Room) on Wednesday, 1st February at 11am. There you will find the room packed with enthusiastic retirees all ready to sign up for the host of extremely interesting and stimulating courses and activities being presented to stimulate the mind and body, or simply to entertain.

In Tamworth, there are book groups, a poetry reading group, gardening groups, lots of areas to volunteer in the community, such as Meals on Wheels. Probus, Salvation Army, church groups etc. There are a whole raft of activities offered at the Community Centre. Just walk in and look on the table inside the door, and watch out for Seniors Week for concerts, trips etc. Whew! Nothing to do?
At least you have made a start by writing to the paper. For goodness sake, don’t relocate. Participate!
