A university student from Armidale studying Business Statistics now has real-world experience in the law of probability after winning one of the four top prizes of $10,000 on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket.

The happy teenager admitted it was his studies, rather than the festive season, that prompted him to buy the ticket.
“It was just a random buy! I don’t really usually buy scratchies but I was studying for a university assignment in my Business Statistics class and since I was reading about the law of probability it just popped in my head to go buy an Instant Scratch-Its ticket!” he said.
“I’ve always thought that winning that type of thing is really hard!”
The ticket was purchased from Heagney’s Plaza News.
