Abby Christodoulou and Hannah Cosgrove will perform alongside some of Australian Country Music’s biggest acts at the Country Cocktails event on Saturday, January 21, the Tamworth Country Music Festival Gala Dinner on January 24 and they will support Kirsty Lee Akers at her main show at the Family Hotel on Saturday, January 28.
“This is our first time at the festival as Mae Valley,” Hannah told The Northern Daily Leader.
“We are so excited, these are our first proper shows in Australia apart from one we did a few weeks ago.
“We are pretty excited and don’t know what to expect, but we will do our thing and give a bit of ourselves to the people watching- we’ll try and make it an intimate performance and have a lot of fun.”
Christodoulou said she was unsure if the girls were prepared for the Tamworth heat but were excited to make the most of their time in the city.
“We’ve been googling the temperature and mentally preparing ourselves for it because New Zealand is a lot colder, but we’re excited to soak in the atmosphere and meet everyone over there,” she said.
“We’re looking forward for people to get to know us and our vibe and come to our gigs and have a laugh with the audience - it’s a very personal performance.”
The duo also plans to busk in Tamworth’s Peel St and attend performances of other artists while they’re in the city.
Since their appearance on X Factor in 2015, the duo say their lives and careers has been a whirlwind of adventure.
”It’s been a pretty exciting journey and one we didn’t really expect to kick off so fast, but so far we are definitely enjoying the ride,” Christodoulou said.
