TAMWORTH: A CAR was stolen and taken on a joy ride before it crashed into a tree just 100m from where it was taken.
The silver Nissan Pathfinder was swiped from a Giles Place residence in West Tamworth between 2.25pm and 2.45pm Saturday.
The vehicle was located crashed into a tree 100m away on Flinders Street about 3.10pm.
Police are now appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information should contact Tamworth police on 6768 2999 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
